Our Drum and Brass mission is to make music accessible, inclusive and affordable

This range of membership options hopefully helps you put together a learning experience that suits you, but is also about being part of a bigger musical community.

We are generously subsidised by our funders which is how we can offer our groups at such a low cost. If you are able to, however, do consider helping us out with a larger subscription. Doing this means that more people can access the real and life-changing benefits of music-making.

Thank you to all our members

Welcome to Drum and Brass!

Just joined us?  Or perhaps you have been with us for a while but it’s your first time here? It’s so good to see you!

There’s so much we want to tell you but for now, make yourself a cuppa and have a read of this

On joining a Drum and Brass music group.

Our brilliant music facilitators are highly trained in music and in teaching. We offer basic instrumental and ensemble skills in groups with an emphasis on building community and boosting mental health. For us, the important thing about music-making is that it brings us together in a positive way. We hope you enjoy your time with us.

Drum and Brass is an inclusive organisation. We welcome people of all genders, faiths and abilities. If you are concerned about any aspect of inclusion, do please let us know. We are members of Brass bands England and we work with other organisations who can help us make your music experience a good one.

The main things you need to know are:

Rehearsals:

Friendly, fun and inclusive

Performances:

We will invite you to take part in performancs, to give you a flavour of that lovely experience!

Kit:

We can loan you an instrument, music stand and music. We ask you to sign for items you take away from the rehearsal room.

Cost: We have a range of membership options that start from £4 per session. We spread the cost over the year to keep music-making as affordable as possible.

Policy:

We aim to be respectful of one another in and out of the band room. See our code of practice.

Drum and Brass policies (including safeguarding) are found on our download page

If you have any concerns about safeguarding please contact our Safeguarding Lead: Davina Vencatasamy

Communications:

Emails: We use OSM software to manage our groups, invite you to events etc. in line with GDPR. Please create a profile when you receive an email invitation.

You want more?

Whether it’s more music tuition, more involvement as a volunteer or a bit of extra support in yoru life. Just askDrum and Brass work with lots of partners and we can signpost you to groups that will help.

Just ask your session lead.
