Do you believe music should be welcoming, creative, and rooted in community?
Do you love working with players at the very start of their musical journey?
We’re looking for 1–3 creative and committed brass or percussion facilitators to join our School of Brass team for the 2026–27 academic year.

✨ The role
You’ll lead weekly, term-time brass groups in Tebay, Appleby and Kirkby Stephen — our feeder groups that help players build confidence, skills, and a love of playing together, preparing them for training bands and established brass bands when they’re ready.
💷 Pay: £30 per hour
⏱ Hours:
1 hour per group per week
Plus planning & evaluation
Termly staff meetings with your line manager
📅 Dates: Blocks of 10 sessions per term (across the 26–27 academic year)
🎶 What you’ll do
Create safe, welcoming and well-managed learning environments
Support and motivate players of all ages
Manage player communication and progression
Create and share resources
Support assistant facilitators
Report to your line manager

Drum+Brass CIC is looking for experienced and inclusive brass practitioners (cornet, trombone, percussion) to deliver specialist workshops within our community and youth groups across Cumbria.
We work to make high-quality music accessible locally and are committed to fair pay and supportive working relationships.
What’s involved?
Around 8 hours of work over 1–4 weeks
Spring/Summer 2026
Workshops within existing groups
Friendly, well-organised projects
Pay: £50 per hour (freelance)
We’re looking for people who:
Are confident teaching their instrument
Enjoy working with mixed-ability groups
Value inclusive, community-based music
Communicate well and work collaboratively
Safeguarding:
Applicants must hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS, provide references, and follow our safeguarding policies.
