Drum & Brass is 10 years old today! On 5th Novembe Drum & Brass is 10 years old today!
On 5th November 2015, Drum & Brass officially became a CIC —it began with two people and one big idea: that music could be done differently.
Ten years later, we’re still here — small but mighty — making music with communities, schools, and bands, and helping more people find their voice through creativity.
Over the years we’ve delivered 50 projects, supported 400+ learners, clocked up more than 1,200 hours of music-making and 55 concerts. But what matters most are the moments we’ve shared: the first notes, the laughter, the friendships, and the joy of seeing people discover their own musical power.
We might not have a big celebration planned — but today we’re taking a moment to be grateful. For every player, partner, volunteer, and supporter who has believed in the idea that music belongs to everyone — thank you.
Here’s to the next ten years of doing music differently.

Do you run a training band — or dream of starting one? Come and join us for an informal get-together to share ideas, experiences and challenges around beginning bands, inclusion and accessibility.
We’ll chat about questions like:

🎵 What makes a great first rehearsal for beginners?
🎵 Is there still a place for auditions?
🎵 How do we balance tradition with accessibility?
🎵 When do players start to feel part of the band?

Whether you’re leading a group, teaching, or just passionate about growing the next generation of players, this is for you!

Good coffee, great conversation, and plenty of inspiration — come along and be part of the discussion. Book you place following the link in the comments.
